Assembly;
The Windrider BD-5J EDF JET is come with a basic ARF kit, there are 10 items inside a box. Which is a 2 nos of molded die-cast foam fuselage, wing, canopy, vertical fin, horizontal fin, control rod, horn, 8nos of magnet, 2nos of metal hinge, 4mm fiber rod, one inch fiber tape. Unfortunetely, there is no glue & decals supply in this ARF kit. The manufacturer has advised some of the electronics, eg: Scorpion BL motor HK2221-8.
During the assembly process, there some item need to be concern, due to the products insruction not showing clear for every process.

*Highlight no1; The two pieces of metal hinge suppose to fix into the center point of the elevator, but there is not enough space to place in, so that you need to cut off a bit & modify it.

*Highlight no2; Make sure the elevator servo is checked or set neutral before fix in, even all the wiring need to check properly before install. Because of the design for this model is not provide any emergency or service outlet for maintenance or repair, so that you can't do anything if missed up something.


Summary;
The overall assembly duration has took about 5 hours to complete, due to i have missed up something with the setting. For my advise, the ESC should install somewhere near canopy or the location that easy for maintenance. I believe it is not a beginner model, this required an intermediate or advanced skill to complete the assembly.

The Genaral Flight Perfomance;
For the 1st flight;
I have selected to use a 3s 2250mah lipo pack to fly this model. I did launch it by using hand & 10ft from the ground level, but i am failed to launch it. After a discussion with my members at site, we all agreed that the air intake is not enough, this model required to launch atleast 20ft from ground level.


For the 2nd flight;
I have replace a 4s 2500mah lipo pack for this test. The launching method is same with the 1st flight. In this time, i had successful to launch the model with only little elevator up & full of throatte. The BD-5J perfoms a nice straight ahead climb in the air. The max speed is approx. 60-80mph, with this power, the model had more than enough speed to perfom some aerobatics like eg: Inverted flight, rolls & loops. The roll rates are fast & immediate movement. In between this, i had do a high speed low pass without any stress & tension with this model, due to the model can provide more than enough stability & smooth perfomance. In the glide perfomance test, the BD-5J is come with a light wing loading, even the throatte just kept in 30%, the model still can glide in the air. The slow flight characteristics makes landing easy, just keep 10-15% of throatte & run out of elevator then keep the nose up, so that the airplane can land very well.

Conclusion; The windrider BD-5J EDF Jet has provided a smooth & stability perfomance. The few point you need to concern is during you make a tight turn at slow speed, it may cause the model stall. The elevator is also sensitive, the throw rate for the elevator don't set too high if you are not confidence on it. I'm strongly recommend this model is for the intermediate or advanced pilot.

* The total flying time with 4s 2500mah lipo is approx. 4-5mins with full of throatte.
